Use this space to get and give answers to questions and concerns about the Pecha Kucha project due next week.  I figure if one of you has the question either I have the answer or one of your classmates does. Suggestions for how to make the process easier or the final product better are also welcome

Hello! I have a quick question. I am pretty much ready to record my PK but I am a little concerned about the balance of criticism to application in my presentation. I have 9 slides for the chapter I chose (explanation), 6 for application to The Carnival at Bray, and 5 for how to teach it. I am concerned about the balance; should I be focusing more on the teaching aspect, less on the teaching aspect? Thank you so much for reading and answering!

Hi Amelia--

This sounds like the right balance--when you say how to teach it, I assume you mean Carnival at Bray, yes? But, just to say it, folks will have a range of explanation to application ratios. And I trust that you guys can figure out what works best for your article and information.

Is there a specific format, or are there specific requirements we need to follow when writing the reflection?

Herby and Leah tried to email me their Pecha Kucha assignments. While the actual file came through, the sound files didn't come through. So I've set up a temporary password for my dropbox--essentially the cloud. I'll keep this as the password until Saturday, midnight.

So my email address is lee.torda@gmail.com
The temporary password is LIBRARY420 (I know, right? Who would have thought of that one? Keep in mind that library is all caps. No space between library and 420).

There was also a question on the reflection. I'll send out more on the reflection after everyone has posted their Pecha Kuchas. Right now, let's worry about that. I'll post this on the discussion board for the Pecha Kucha as well.

I'm following up on an email I sent about uploading your pecha kuchas. A few things. If you have done it in google's powerpoint, as I mentioned, it will not work. You can't record the slide show. I do not know if it is possible to import work done in google into MS PowerPoint and, if you can do it, if it will work without a hitch. Herby used a mac version of PowerPoint called keynote, transferred the file to MSPowerPoint and has now lost his sound file. So I think that, unfortunately, you need to work in MSPowerPoint from jump or you will have trouble.

Additionally, because the file sizes are big, folks seem to be having trouble uploading them. I have a number of suggestions.
1) Try using a non-bsu email to send it to my gmail account: lee.torda@gmail.com It might accommodate bigger files.

2) Try uploading it to my dropbox. Go to dropbox.com and log in with this information:
username: lee.torda@gmail.com
password: LIBRARY420
Now, it might now work because for security reasons, drop box asks me if it is me when someone tries to sign in from a new computer. Leah tried to upload her pecha kucha and it didn't work for that reason (incidentally, Leah, I've given you permission to load up stuff so it might work now).
3) Try using outlook file-sharing. I've set up a whole-class email. It's actually a group. I believe (hope is more like it) that I've made it possible for all of you to post, email, share files, etc. I'm going to try right now to post my pecha kucha to the "file" space in our Library 420 group. I'll let you know if that works.

I'm sorry this is so complicated. Nothing has been easy on any front this week. LT
