POST TO ONLINE DISCUSSION BOARD: Based on the reading and our class discussion from A resume if you have one, and, if not, any info that you think you might want to put on a resume (from in-class writing  on 2 September 2015).

Chapters 5 & 6 in Markel, Chapter 4 in Williams, pages 125-128 & 133-136, also in Williams. DUE: Top Five Document. 7 October 2015
READ:
Chapter 7 and 11 from page 281 to the end in Markel, Chapter 5 in Williams. DUE: Top Five Document; Draft of New Writing Minor Campaign. We’ll have a pitch workshop in the last hour of class so it is important that you have material ready to present to the rest of the class. You will have minimal time in class to be ready for the workshop—not time to prepare something there and then. Plan accordingly.  IN-CLASS: Overview of personal website assignment. Getting on to Weebly. Overview of Midterm Portfolio.  Please come to class having read the assignment information located on this class website for both the personal website and the portfolio.

14 October 2015
READ: Chapter 13 in Markel, Chapter 7 in Williams. DUE: Top Five Document. IN-CLASS: Time in class to build your personal website. The last 45 minutes of class will be a workhop. While you’ll have time to do work on your site in class—roughly an hour—it will not be enough time to produce something useful to be workshopped if you are starting from scratch. Plan accordingly in the week prior.

21 October 2015
READ: Chapters 9 & 16 in Markel. DUE: Top Five Document. Overview of Grant Writing Assignment. Please come to class having read the assignment information located on this class website.  Time in class to begin drafting your grant.

28 October 2015
DUE: Midterm Portfolio. Class will not meet. I am away at a conference. We'll hold a group exercise (on this weebly site) on grant writing. You can use the time to write your portfolio cover letter online. Materials are due either electronically and/or to my Tilly mail box by 9:00 AM Monday Morning (2 November 2015).

4 November 2015
DUE: By class time, your post to the Class blog (click here). IN-CLASS: Work on developing the text of your grant (big picture work). Work on sentence level issues (little picture). This will be a working class. Be ready to write--either on a computer or longhand. Be ready to share your material with your classmates. By the end of class, you should have a working draft of your grant. Also, Discussion of Pecha Kucha Assignment. Please take a look at the assignment information available on this website.

11 November 2015
READ: DUE: Post online to our class blog about your plan for your pecha kucha project. (click here).   You should reply to at least three people with things that you WOULD want to see in a pecha kucha about their topic, and two things you WOULD NOT care to see/know.
