DUE: Reading Journal. IN-CLASS: First book club meeting. You won’t need to have read your book for the first meeting, BUT you should bring your book so that you can determine how many pages you need to read for each book club in order to have the text done by the time of the book club presentations, explanation of book club presentation.

Due in-class: your midterm portfolio. Also, please read this essay in preparation for in-class work on responding to student writing (it's called "Mixed Blood Stew"). I will give you a manila envelope in class for all of your materials. You will need to have all of your materials ready to turn in at that time. In-class work on reading and responding to student writing. IN-CLASS: Discussion of Research in Teaching Diverse Students. Please come to class having read the assignment on this website.

Either we will go to the Library people or the library people will come to us. Time in class to find articles, work with your group.
